If you are wanting to take the courses using a drafting board, here's a shopping list of what you'll need:
These items can normally be found at your local office supply or blueprint shop.

Drafting board that will accommodate 24" tall by 36" wide paper.

36" "T" square or a parallel board.

#2 pencils.

6" and 10" Drawing triangles.

Gum Erasers.

24" x 36" vellum or transparent bond paper
